History

Formerly titled “Bowling Green and Warren County Area Prayer Breakfast,” this event dates back to the late 1990s. It began as a collaboration between Wendell Strode, Connie Russell (both National Corvette Museum), Mike Wilson (then Manager of WCVK), and other Christian business professionals. The early objective was to bring Christians together for professional networking in a way that honored the Lord.

Eventually, in the 2000s the Board of Directors and long-time attendees expanded the purpose of the event to serve high school students as well. As time has progressed, various team members have grafted in and out of the event.

In May 2018, the event had its largest attendance to date and we rejoiced that Bowling Green High School, Warren East High School, Warren Central High School, South Warren High School, Lighthouse and Beacon Academy, Greenwood High School, Geo Center High School, Anchored Christian School, Bowling Green Christian Academy, and homeschool students were all represented. After such a pinnacle, and decades of faithful service, Wendell and Connie felt it was time to rotate off the Board, leaving a mighty legacy. Senator Mike Wilson still remains on the Board.

In October of 2018, with additional leadership, the Bowling Green and Warren County Area Prayer Breakfast re-branded as Bowling Green Prayer Breakfast and re-certified as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
